What’s Your Favorite….? 3/16/18

Happy Friday everyone! Can you believe we’re halfway through March already? I just can’t believe how quickly time is flying by! I hope you’ve all had a great week.

Thank you so much to all of you who shared your favorite piece of advice you’ve ever received last week. You shared some wonderful advice with us! If you missed everyone’s answers, you can read them here.

One piece of advice I used to give my personal training clients is that they should always eat breakfast. Sometimes it gets boring because we tend to eat the same thing over and over, or we just grab what we can as we head out the door and it’s not always healthy. I thought maybe we could help each other out with this, so this week’s question is

What’s your favorite healthy breakfast?

Please share what you eat (or like to eat) for the most important meal of the day. I hope you each have a wonderful weekend and for my friends who celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, I hope you have a wonderful celebration!




  1. I quite like wholemeal or white toast, either one, if I need a little comfort. Otherwise grapes (but I have to be careful with the skin now I have a stoma sadly) and yoghurt are quite refreshing to give me a little morning boost. Ooo I almost forgot crumpets – I haven’t had those in ages but love them if they’re really well cooked (I know most people like them soft, soggy and soaked in butter, but I prefer them harder and drier because I’m a little odd I guess) 🙂

      1. Nope, not a fan of soggy! And I should probably clarify I eat grapes / fruit and yoghurt separately, rather than mixed together (again probably because I’m a bit odd with textures) but I do find it a quite light and refreshing breakfast snack. What’s your favourite? xx

      2. Ha ha, silly me! I thought you mixed the grapes into the yogurt.😄 I still might try it though, because it sounds good to me. It’s hard for me to choose a favorite, but a couple of my go-to’s are toast with almond butter and a combination of eggs/egg whites scrambled with veggies and sometimes a little bacon or ham.   2. When I have the energy, I love to make fresh smoothies for breakfast – fruit, spinach, non-dairy yogurt and coconut milk – or whatever I have on hand. An apple, lemon smoothie is very refreshing.

    1. Thanks for sharing V.J.! We like smoothies too, but my stomach just won’t tolerate them for breakfast. A lot of times I make them for our mid-morning snack. I need to try the apple-lemon. That sounds like it would be great for Spring/Summer. Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Ooo my favourite breakfast after I’ve not been feeling well for a few days (also a good hangover cure, but I can’t remember the last time I’ve had more than 2 drinks) is a good ol’ bacon sandwich and cuppa tea! 🙂

  3. A Breakfast Sundae. Fresh fruit of your choice topped with yogurt and granola. Healthy, Yummy, and it has the eye appeal that kinda convinces my mind that I am treating myself to something far more fattening than I really am!

    1. Thanks for sharing Kerri! I’m glad to meet a fellow avocado lover. When we go to our favorite coffee shop for breakfast, I have a deconstructed breakfast burrito with avocado instead of bacon and it’s delicious! Have a fabulous weekend!


      1. Yummy..Thank you for sharing your avacodo ways as well..I havent had a way I dont like them , they make the best pudding..avacado, coaco powder, lil coconut and your preference for sweetner and magic..

  4. My favourite breakfast is a…Saturday breakfast!…leisurely with conversation, freshly made porridge with seeds and raisins, organic free-range boiled egg and toast or gluten/wheat free crackers..with real butter depending on how well my tummy is behaving! Making myself hungry now!!

  5. Being both Celiac & lactose intolerant I make my own GF muesli with almond flakes, maple cashews, pecans, cranberries & use LF milk topped with sliced banana! And of course my favorite Earl Grey tea!
