Happy Friday everyone! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week!

Thanks to everyone who shared their favorite recovery day activity last week. You shared some great things to do when you’re not feeling well. If you missed everyone’s answers you can find them here.

For this week, please tell us

“What’s your favorite piece of advice you’ve ever received?”

Please share advice you’ve gotten that has stuck with you over the years, or helped you out the most as you’ve gone through life–you know, that one little nugget of wisdom that has made a big difference in the way you see/do things.

I hope you each have a fantastic weekend!

  1. As a parent I learned never to take my children’s actions/ words personally. It changed the way I responded to them and helped when I became a teacher too. I think this advice holds for all areas of life. When we take ourselves out of the equation it is easier to see what is really going on.

    1. Thanks for sharing V.J.! That’s great advice – if we didn’t learn not to take our children’s words/actions personally, I don’t know how we would ever have made it through their teenage years.😊 Like you said, though, it applies across the board and can be so helpful in seeing the real truth of what’s going on. Have a fabulous weekend!

  2. I had a boss who once told me “No guts, no glory” and to this day I use that to help overcome any self doubt or hesitation for myself and my staff. And then my mom taught me to always wear sunscreen too! 😊

    1. Thanks for sharing! That’s great advice, and one of the things I say to myself pretty often too.😊 It really does help me realize that if I want to do anything meaningful, it’s going to take some guts – stepping out of my comfort zone, trying new things, etc. Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Thought provoking post Terri! About 3 years ago I was advised to “listen to your body”…it was something I had unknowingly failed to do, always pushing myself too far. Now I have a whole new perspective on self-care, self-love and saying ‘No’. Those 4 words have had an amazing effect on the quality of my life…and on those around me!

  4. The best piece of advice I received aided me tremendously when I was trying to ‘heal’ after a car accident… “You did the best you could with the information you had at that time.” That piece of advice afforded me the luxury to forgive myself and move on. ~Kim

  5. I’ve had so many, but today the one that surfaces with that question is, “follow your heart,” it took me until I reached 50 before I really really got that one..id say the most pivotal when the light actually goes on and you actually trust the beat!
